Thanks for the great advice! I’m a huge fan of all your beautiful designs and graphics!
I’m slowly slowly working through a redesign right now, and the loveliness here is certainly one inspiration. I totally agree that blogs with consistent widths (photos, graphics) look the most pulled together. My only issue is that I post photos to Flickr. If I post the blog width, I lose having a full high-res backup. If I post full-size, Flickr gives limited sizes for output – too small or way too huge. Any ideas for how to manage this? Do you host photos elsewhere or upload to your blog directly?
Thanks for your comment Emily. Is there a reason you need a high-res version on Flickr rather than keeping this version on your computer or online backup? I do think the best option is to prepare all your images at the correct size and resolution before uploading them to your blog.
I’m also fond of organization. Honestly, I don’t want overly decorated blogs or websites with so much colors and fill ins. I’d like mine, given the chance to have it a makeover, to be sleek and simple, yet cute and sophisticated. I am also very particular with margins, alignment, arrangement, stuff like that. Maybe you could help? :)
